East Fremantle Farmers Market is brand new this year. It's the latest project from Red Tent Events – the team behind Freo Farmers Market – who wanted to bring that same fresh, local, market-morning experience to a community that didn't have one of its own yet. New market, same idea: local growers and makers, a park, and a really good reason to get up on a Saturday.

Our Story
East Fremantle Farmers Market was born from two decades of market-making in the heart of Fremantle. Founder Kylie Wheatley has spent over 20 years bringing communities together through Red Tent Events and as manager of the much-loved Freo Farmers Market – a Sunday institution known for its fresh local produce, artisan makers, and easy-going, plastic-free spirit. After years of watching families, farmers, and small businesses thrive in that space, Kylie saw the opportunity to bring the same warmth and community connection to East Fremantle. Launching fortnightly at Locke Park, East Fremantle Farmers Market carries forward everything we believe in: good food grown and made close to home, small businesses given room to grow, and a Saturday morning that feels like catching up with old friends. This is a market built on relationships – with our growers, our makers, and the community that gathers here – and we can't wait to welcome you to Locke Park.

Kylie Wheatley
MARKET MANAGER
Kylie is the Market Manager and is well known for her love of Markets, Fremantle and the Arts. Kylie's passion for markets and community has seen her create and provide markets in Fremantle and beyond for the last 21 years. Kylie's markets have been featured on Lonely Planet TV, have won the City of Fremantle Disability Award, and the Chamber of Commerce, "Outstanding Community Event Award Winner". Georgie Smith
MARKET COORDINATOR
Georgie's background is a mixture of events and marketing. From coordinating ultra-marathon events to creating content for food and music festivals. She has always spent most weekends hopping around markets, including when on her travels, until she settled in Perth 3 years ago and found a home at Freo Farmers Market. You'll likely find her wheeling tents, bins and chairs around the market, or with her camera in hand, chatting to the market's incredible stall holders

About
For over two decades, Kylie Wheatley has worked alongside East Fremantle artist Joanna Brown – known by her studio name, Laeline Design – to bring bold, botanical artistry to her markets and community projects. Jo's distinctive style – symmetrical native flora in striking block colours – has become woven into the visual identity of Freo Farmers Market, and now she's brought that same magic to Kylie's newest venture, creating the logo and brand artwork for East Fremantle Farmers Market.
Jo's creative career spans a decade running her clothing label Hustle on High Street, to large-scale murals now found across Perth, including the well-loved wall at Ootong & Lincoln in South Fremantle.
